Biography
When Achilles Dew Byers was born on 2 February 1849, in Callaghan,Alleghany, Virginia, United States, his father, David Richard Byer, was 35 and his mother, Elizabeth Bodkins Neel, was 27.[1]
Achilles (21) married Julia Hamilton Walker (21) (born on February 15, 1849 in Covington, Alleghany; daughter of Henry Walker and Maria Rankin (Shawver) Walker) on January 11, 1871 in Alleghany.[2]
Their children were:
- Annie Florence Byers (1872–1936)
- Rosa L. Byers (1877–<1900)
- John Henry Byers (1879–1944)
- Stephen M. Byers (1882–1953)
He lived in Covington, Alleghany, Virginia, United States in 1880,[3] and Bentleyville, Washington, Pennsylvania, United States in 1900 and 1910,[4][5]
He died on 8 November 1920, in Washington, Washington, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in Scenery Hill Cemetery, Scenery Hill, North Bethlehem Township, Washington, Pennsylvania, United States.[6]
