Educ. Downside College. 1892; Merchant Venturers' Technical College, Bristol, 1897. Beasley Prize, Institute of Civil Engineers. Apprenticed to J. W. Shores, M.I.C.E (Ch. Engineer, Natal GoRlwys.) 1899. Assistant Engineer, Natal Govt. Railways, 1902. Assistant Engineer, Engineer-Secretary, Way and Works, 1914. Assistant Chief Engineer, Land, 1918, Chief Engineer, "Domains," 1921 (Egypt). Capt. Royal Engineers. during the European War.
