Evelyn was born on 6 Sep. 1906 in the Chapelry District of St. Agnes, New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas, to Samuel Bode, a barber, and his wife, Alice "Patton" "Pathou" or "Pattou" (illegible) Bode. This birth record, found by accident, was listed on the same page as that of John Alexander Ceruti, Jr.[2].
More research is needed to establish additional relationships between the Bode and Ceruti families in the Bahamas.
