Research Notes

Evelyn may be related to Laura Frances Helen Ceruti Bode by marriage. Laura's husband is John B. Bode.

Evelyn was born on 6 Sep. 1906 in the Chapelry District of St. Agnes, New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas, to Samuel Bode, a barber, and his wife, Alice "Patton" "Pathou" or "Pattou" (illegible) Bode. This birth record, found by accident, was listed on the same page as that of John Alexander Ceruti, Jr.[2].

Evidently, more than one connection between the Ceruti and Bode families on Nassau has been discovered. "Evelyn" and "Maud" were used as given names in the Ceruti family. See for example, Evelyn Ella Ceruti Kirkland, Mary Maud Ceruti Borop, Lillian Maud Ceruti I, and Lillian Maud Ceruti II, who were the children of Edward Burton Ceruti, Sr.

More research is needed to establish additional relationships between the Bode and Ceruti families in the Bahamas.
