Henry Nichols Beers was born 13 May 1821 at Newtown, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States, died there 9 March 1867,^[1] son of Amariah Beers and Betsey Curtis; married 28 Sept 1850 at Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA to Sarah Jane Chaffee,^[2] born 28 Nov 1831 in Massachusetts, died 15 Apr 1922 at Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri, USA, daughter of Samuel Burge Chaffee (1802–1874) and Wattie (Merchant) Chaffee (1810–1859); buried at Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA. ^[3]

He was a school teacher at Newtown.
