John Samuel Beers was born 19 April 1836 at Brookfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States, died 20 Nov 1886 at Nantucket, Nantucket County, Massachusetts, USA, son of David Booth Beers (1805-1885) and Margarette (Pray) Beers (1818-1892); married 10 June 1862 at Greenfield Hill Church, Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA to Maria Josephine Wakeman,[1] born 29 May 1840, at Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA, died there 26 Sept 1907, daughter of Zalmon B Wakeman (1814–1864) and Susan Nichols (Warner) Wakeman (1816–1911); buried at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA.[2]
