Henry Baer/Bear was born in 1735 in Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Johannes Michael Baer (1705-1770) and Magdalena D (Eby) Baer (1710-1791). He married Margaret Newcomer.
Henry moved to the Gehman community about 1767. In 1804 he moved from Brecknock Township, Berks County, to Cumberland County.
