Biography

John Anderson was born on 21 December 1875 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Orr Anderson and Alice Houston.^[1]

John Anderson married Charlotte Fox on 17 Jul 1900 at Antrim, County Antrim, Ireland. it was noted on the marriage register that John's residence was in Glasgow, Scotland.^[2]

John and Charlotte had ten known children: John Orr Anderson (b. 1901), Robert Foxe Anderson (b. 1903), Lawrence Anderson (b. 1907), Alice Houston Anderson (b. 1909), George Anderson (b. 1911), Irene Anderson (b. 1913), Winnie Anderson (b. 1915), Roy Anderson (b. 1917), Eleanor Anderson (b. 1919), Reginald David Lloyd Anderson (b. 1921). Their first two children were born in Scotland, the rest were born in British Columbia, Canada.

John and Charlotte emigrated to St Rollox, Lanarkshire, Scotland soon after they married.

In the 1921 Canada census, John was age 45 living at Burnaby, New Westminster, British Columbia with his wife Charlotte Anderson (42), sons Lawrence Anderson (13), George Anderson (9), Roy Anderson (3), daughter Alice F Anderson (11), Irene Anderson (7), Winnie Anderson (5), Ellenor Anderson (1).^[6]

John Anderson died in 1949, age 72, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.^[1]

John was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.^[7]
